Boltwoodite is a rare uranium mineral, and there is only one known locality in California where it has been reported—the New Method Mine (Hope Uranium Prospect) in San Bernardino County. The specimens from this locality are microscopic but represent high-quality crystallized examples of the species. This particular specimen features many micro "sprays" of rich yellow-coloured boltwoodite nestled throughout a vug lined with micro-quartz crystals. While the boltwoodite crystals are best viewed under magnification, their vivid colour and sharp crystallization make them a welcome addition to any collection. #radioactive
