Baryte

Pack Rat Mine (Lisbon adit), Pryor Mountains, Carbon County, Montana
USA
Dimensions: 5.2x3.8x2.1 cm

$135.00

A striking miniature featuring lustrous, translucent golden-amber baryte crystals in a classic jackstraw-style parallel growth. The crystals are flat and tabular, forming an intergrown cluster with excellent visual complexity and strong lustre. This specimen comes from the Pack Rat Mine, Montana, particularly from the desirable late 1990s finds that produced some of the finest material from the locality. Quality examples such as this, combining rich colour, sharp form, and good overall aesthetics, have become increasingly difficult to obtain. A fine older piece from the collection of Peter Tarassoff. Comes with a "Chris Tucker Minerals" label, who collected much of this material back in the day.
