This specimen features a grouping of excellent cream-colored barite crystals from the Blanchard Mine in New Mexico. While barite is common throughout the area, finding and extracting intact crystals is incredibly difficult, as most barite occurs as intergrown masses and damaged specimens. This piece is an excellent example for the locality. The specimen is contacted on the back, and near the contact, there are a few small blue fluorites tucked into the crevices.
