This miniature specimen from the Tsumeb Mine, Namibia features a well-defined vug richly lined with sparkling, lustrous azurite crystals. The deep, electric-blue azurite is beautifully complemented by a delicate scattering of tiny, transparent white, cerussite crystals nestled within. Patches of acicular green malachite accent the specimen. The interplay of three species (azurite, cerussite, and malachite) on this piece highlights the extraordinary paragenesis for which Tsumeb is so renowned. Attractive, balanced, and mineralogically significant, this is an excellent representative miniature specimen from one of the world’s most important and historic localities.
