From the famous Tsumeb Mine, Namibia, this specimen features a classic association of azurite and malachite. Sharp, deep blue azurite crystals dominate the upper portion of the piece, with some areas showing partial pseudomorphing to rich green malachite, a transformation that speaks to the complex oxidation processes at Tsumeb. While there is a touch of roughness in places, the specimen is largely in good condition. Pieces like this exemplify the mineralogical richness and dynamic chemistry for which Tsumeb is celebrated.
