Mineral specimens of any variety are rare from this lesser-known copper and cobalt mine in Zambia, especially from the early mining period before the 1960s. This specimen displays finely foliated azurite with minor malachite, set on virtually no limonite matrix, reflecting a unique geological signature from the region. Acquired before Zambia's mineral market gained attention, this piece was a gift to Dr. Tarassoff from his colleague J. R. Rowling in 1957, representing an uncommon and historically significant find from this African locality.
