This specimen features an aggregate of green micro-crystals of radioactive autunite, it has bright green fluorescence under short-wave UV light. The autunite originates from the Posey Mine, a former uranium-copper occurrence. The Posey Mine shipped its first uranium ore in early 1950, by 1954, lower-grade uranium ore was being extracted via open-cut mining methods. This specimen is a fascinating piece of mineralogical history from an early uranium producer of the U.S.A.
