A lovely miniature specimen, this is a classic example of aurichalcite from the famous 79 Mine. It features vibrant greenish-blue sprays of aurichalcite atop a sparkling plate of colourless hemimorphite crystals. The radial sprays are composed of countless fine acicular needles, giving the bursts a feathery texture and bright, saturated hue. This is a fine example of association material from this historic Arizona locality, making it an excellent addition for collectors focused on Arizona or multi-species mineral specimens.

The 79 Mine, discovered in 1879, is a historic American lead-zinc deposit with a long and complex operational history. Although closed to the public, renewed activity under current ownership has resulted in a renaissance of specimen recovery. The mine remains a premier source of fine mineral specimens, renowned for its striking blue hemimorphite, cuprian smithsonite, yellow wulfenite, and vibrant aurichalcite, such as this.
