This small-cabinet specimen features a plate of dark brown-black andradite crystals, accompanied by later growths of quartz and feldspar, with platy magnetite as the central feature. It originates from the Marmoraton Mine, a former iron mine located within the Precambrian meta-sediments near Marmora, Ontario. The mine operated from the 1950s until its closure in 1977, with extraction carried out through a large open-pit operation.
