This specimen features a sharp pseudomorph of ancylite-(Ce) replacing a well-formed crystal of what was once remondite-(Ce), perfectly preserving the original hexagonal prismatic form. It is in excellent condition overall, with no significant damage. However, there is a small area on the back where a now-dissolved crystal once intergrew, leaving behind a distinctive cleft-like opening. Mont Saint-Hilaire is renowned for producing some of the world’s most unusual and fascinating minerals, including rare pseudomorphs like this one. With collecting now severely restricted at the site, specimens of quality are becoming increasingly hard to find, making this an especially desirable piece for Mount Saint-Hilaire or pseudomorph collectors.
