This attractive thumbnail specimen features a sharp, lustrous, white trapezohedral crystal of analcime from the renowned Desourdy Quarry at Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec. The crystal is bright white and opaque, showing some spots where it was once pressed up against some other analcime crystals. What's interesting about it is the aegirine crystal that has grown right through the middle of it. Free of matrix, this well-formed and eye-catching mini analcime crystal was collected by Peter Tarassoff in 1972, during the heyday of collecting at this world-famous mineral locality.
