"The specimens were given to me (Peter Tarassoff) by the mine geologist at the Mattagami Lake mine in 1976 and are from a location in the mine known to contain tellurantimony and mattagamite. The mattagamite is from the type locality, and is a rare mineral and only occurs at five known worldwide occurrences. It occurs as microscopic grains (slightly violet hue) best identified in a polished section as in these specimens"
