This is a beautiful cupro-adamite combo specimen from Lavrion, Greece, featuring a crystallized cavity with intensely coloured, copper-bearing adamite crystals. The crystals, which reach up to 2 mm in size, display a vibrant, rich green colour and are best appreciated under magnification. The crystals are in an oxidized limonite matrix and are accompanied by bright grass-green, botryoidal conichalcite.

The Lavrion Mining District has a storied history of mineral production, with mining activities dating back to the 3rd millennium B.C. According to mindat.org, over 600 different mineral species have been identified from this locality. Lavrion remains one of the world’s most prolific sources of diverse secondary ore minerals, making specimens like this a prized addition to any collection.
