This miniature specimen from the famous Tsumeb Mine in Namibia presents a rare eye-catching association of three distinctive species. Scattered across the matrix are translucent dark-green zincolivenite crystals (originally labelled cuprian adamite). Surrounding these are fibrous yellow ferrilotharmeyerite (type locality), a very rare calcium, iron, zinc arsenate species that is seldom seen in attractive specimens. Completing the trio are a number of creamy beige wulfenite crystals. Together, these minerals capture the extraordinary paragenesis of the Tsumeb deposit, where unusual arsenates and secondary lead species often formed in spectacular combinations. A specimen such as this not only highlights the mine’s legendary mineralogical diversity but also offers collectors a highly desirable piece featuring species that are seldom found together in one specimen.
