This specimen from the famed Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Durango, Mexico, features a bed of well-formed, olive-green, adamite crystal aggregates on a limonite matrix. The crystals sparkle with superb lustre characteristic of the finest examples from this iconic locality. Scattered across the matrix are also clear, scalenohedral calcite crystals. As a bonus, the specimen fluoresces brilliant neon green under UV light—a classic feature of high-quality adamite from Ojuela. This piece was acquired by Dr. Peter Tarassoff at the Rochester Mineral Show in 2001 and represents a striking and historically significant example from one of the world’s most celebrated adamite localities.
