This adamite specimen from the Ojuela Mine in Mapimí, Durango, Mexico, showcases the superb distinctive greenish-yellow colour characteristic of the finest examples from this renowned locality. The well-formed, radiating crystal aggregates sit atop a limonite matrix and exhibit excellent clarity and exposure, with some forming the highly desirable spherical “pinwheel” habit prized by collectors. This particular piece was acquired by Dr. Peter Tarassoff at the Rochester Show in 1984 and, as a bonus, displays the classic brilliant neon-green fluorescence under UV light. A striking and historically significant example from one of the world’s most iconic adamite localities.
