Meet Daniel Joyce

Daniel Joyce has developed a diverse and dynamic career, blending his passions for minerals, art, and work in the film and TV industry. He thrives as a mineral dealer and collector, while also making significant strides as a special effects technician. Despite a busy schedule, Daniel consistently finds time for his artistic pursuits.

Daniel's artistic journey commenced with formal education at Fanshawe College, followed by a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. He found himself captivated by the vibrant art scene in Halifax, Nova Scotia, immersing himself in the community for nearly a decade. Eventually, he assumed the esteemed role of Director at the Khyber Centre for the Arts, where his creative vision flourished.

During his tenure in Nova Scotia, Daniel's passion for mineral collecting blossomed. Bonding with his father, David Joyce, over collecting excursions to the Bay of Fundy, Daniel honed his skills and cultivated a discerning eye for unique crystals, igniting a lifelong fascination with the mineral world.

Upon returning to Ontario to pursue a Master's in Visual Studies at the University of Toronto, Daniel's enthusiasm for minerals remained undiminished. He continued his explorations in mineral collecting, venturing into various collecting areas such as Bancroft, Eganville, Quadeville, Flamboro, and Cobalt.

Upon settling back in Ontario, Daniel seamlessly integrated his passion for minerals into his professional life. While working with several contemporary art galleries, he deepened his involvement in his father's mineral business. Through contributions in photography, inventory management, field collecting, and website management, Daniel played an integral role in expanding the reach and impact of the business.

Today, Daniel proudly carries on his father's legacy, steering the business forward with an unwavering commitment to excellence in minerals and a relentless pursuit of expertise in mineralogy. His profound appreciation for the beauty and intricacies of minerals fuels his dedication to preserving and promoting their significance in the world.
